The Busack Family |
|
|

Here is an excerpt from their AVA's Hope application: Much like you, we have a passion for international adoption and believe that it is part of God's plan and purpose for our lives to provide a loving home for children who are otherwise without hope. We have always wanted seven children and have had a heart for adoption. After three difficult pregnancies, resulting in three miracles, we knew we wanted to adopt to grow our family. |

The Karr Family |
|
Update from the Karrs: I wanted to let you know that Aliyah Faith (Ludmia) and Christéla Hope are home from Haiti! We picked them up at Children’s Hospital in Denver on January 24th…12 days after the earthquake. Had the earthquake not happened, we would have still been waiting for another year or more for Aliyah, and likely another three years or so for Christela to come home because of the complications with her process due to the abandonment… but, God worked out a silver lining for us (and many others waiting though the Haiti process) through the devastation of the earthquake. Tomorrow will be 6-months since they’ve been home. It has been one of the hardest (and most tiring) things we have ever done… but we are all adjusting and doing GREAT now – and are so blessed to have them home! |

Joe and Janelle |
|
|
"Joseph" and "Janelle" (adopting 2 girls from Ghana) - note, names have been changed to protect the privacy of this family My name is Joseph and my wife, Janelle, and I are a happily married couple who live in the state of Washington with our two sons and two daughters. For almost 3 years we have desired to help HIV+ orphans in a deep, significant way. Three years ago, adoptions of HIV+ children were almost unheard of; yet sending $30 a month overseas seemed hugely inadequate. We set out on a quest to find a way to help further. |

Heather and Richard Ingle |
|
Our second May 2008 grant was awarded to Heather and Richard Ingle to complete the adoption of their daughter Jesula (Jessie) from Haiti. They have a remarkable story...an excerpt is below:
We began our journey 16 years ago when we became foster parents. God has led us to 8 children that needed a home. All but one of these children have special needs: Down Syndrome, Reactive Attachment, Bi-Polar, Dyslexia, drug and alcohol exposure and learning disabilities are just some of their needs. We also have 3 biological children. God has clearly called us and equipped us to serve Him by providing a home to children with different needs. We have a passion for adoption and getting the word out that there are 143 million orphans worldwide (and there are so many ways each of us can help). |

Jennifer and Peter Hibbs |

An excerpt from their story: "My husband and I are missionaries and so have been able to travel quite a bit during the past 5 years. Adoption is something we have wanted to do and have thought about since we got married six years ago. After spending two weeks in Africa we again were reminded how much we would like to adopt because there is such a huge need there for children to experience the love of a family." |

Wished For Child
Our new children's book is here! Written after experiencing frustration at the lack of children's books available for adoptive children and their siblings, Wished for Child uses one child's voice to explain the loving decision that is adoption - from each person involved at each stage.
Written by Rachel Henry and beautifully illustrated by Amanda Mercurio, the story is illustrated and told to be applicable for any child, regardless of where or how they came to be adopted. The book also includes journal pages so that you can record personal notes related to your child's own adoptive story.
This book is perfect to use as preparation for siblings when welcoming a new member of the family via adoption, for your own adoptive child, or as a gift for a family/child growing through adoption.
100% of the proceeds from this book will go directly toward funding our adoption grants.
